Library Services

About the Library

The Illinois EPA Library provides reference and research services as well as using interlibrary loans to access materials from other libraries.

Borrowing Policy

Borrowing privileges are generally limited to Illinois EPA staff and other libraries.

Members of the public or students wishing to borrow materials and unable to visit should contact their local public, school, or university library and ask for an Interlibrary Loan. To locate Illinois EPA library materials, you can search the Illinois EPA Library Catalog. If you have any questions, please call or e-mail.

Electronic Documents of Illinois: Over 1,600 Illinois EPA documents are accessible in digital form from the Electronic Documents of Illinois website, which is maintained by the Illinois State Library.

Information for Other Libraries: We freely share materials with other libraries in North America via the OCLC Interlibrary Loan system. Our OCLC symbol is JDT and we are a member of LVIS (Libraries Very Interested in Sharing). For libraries that do not have OCLC access, please contact the Librarian at (217) 782-9691 or EPA.ContactUs@illinois.gov for alternate methods.
