Wastewater & Stormwater Loans
The Water Polution Control Loan Program (WPCLP) provides low interest rate loans and other forms of assistance for both wastewater projects and stormwater projects. Eligible projects include, but are not limited to wastewater infrastructure construction, upgrading or rehabilitating existing infrastructure, stormwater-related projects that benefit water quality, and a variety of other projects that protect or improve the quality of Illinois' rivers, streams and lakes.
Applicants must have planning approval by to March 31st of each year in order to be scored for funding on the upcoming Intended Funding List (IFL) which is released on July 1st. Once the applicant has funds reserved for the project, they have the entire fiscal year (July 1st through June 30th, but funding only reserved through December 31st) to get their loan written.
