Operational Visits

Operational visits are scheduled to assist the operator with a specific problem, follow-up on a permit activity, State Revolving Loan fund application, or respond to a consumer complaint. Assistance in developing pollution prevention measures is provided to suppliers through cross-connection program development and implementation, source water protection, and facility-specific local drinking water efforts. Problems are discussed, and recommendations made for resolution. Operational visits may be made following water quality complaints; requests from operators or owners for assistance or trouble shooting; requests from elected officials for education or information; Board or court order follow-up to ensure compliance; and for other specific conditions. No formal letter is sent to the supply following a visit of this type. Operational visits may also be scheduled to gather additional data for Agency evaluation of compliance with corrosion control, surface water treatment, sampling site plan development, or other treatment technology parameters.
