Crestwood Public Drinking Water Supply Contamination
This fact sheet has been prepared based on the information that the Illinois EPA has at this time and on its investigation to date. The Illinois EPA discovered that a contaminated emergency back-up water supply well was being used illegally by supplementing the treated Lake Michigan water that Crestwood provides to its residents. The well has been sealed; Crestwood has been supplying only treated Lake Michigan water to its residents since November 2007.
