Educational Best Practices
The Illinois Electronic Advisory Task Force now has expanded responsibilities under recent amendments to the Consumer Electronics Recycling Act. Beginning January 1, 2026, the Task Force will lead statewide educational efforts to increase public awareness of electronics recycling requirements and opportunities. These initiatives will include developing outreach materials, promoting best practices for safe and responsible recycling, and developing best practices for education and awareness of CEDs. The goal is to make recycling more accessible and to protect Illinois’ environment through informed participation.
The first Educational Awareness Best Practices will be finalized in Q4 of 2026.
