2025 Landfill Operator Certification Exams
New Operator Requirements: The Illinois EPA must receive a new operator’s application at least 30 calendar days in advance of the exam date. Applications received less than 30 days prior to the requested exam date will be reviewed for the next exam date. If the Illinois EPA receives an application less than 30 days prior to last scheduled exam date for the calendar year, the new operator must wait until the next year’s exam dates.
Renewal Requirements: The Illinois EPA must receive a renewing operator’s application at least 15 calendar days in advance of the exam date. Applications received less than 15 days prior to the requested exam date will be reviewed for the next exam date. If the Illinois EPA receives an application less than 15 days prior to last scheduled exam date for the calendar year, the new operator must wait until the next year’s exam dates.
