The Office of Energy provides funding for the governmental and public intuition sector of Illinois through programs focused on energy efficiency, energy resilience, and energy planning. These programs are open to a variety of applicants including public water supply facilities, public wastewater treatment plants, and municipalities. Illinois is also part of a nationwide movement to codify energy efficient and sustainable standards in design and construction by adopting an energy conservation code (energy code).
