Orchard Hills and Winnebago Landfills
Ogle and Winnebago Counties
The Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (Illinois EPA) has prepared this Fact Sheet to provide information about landfill odors that residents have been experiencing from the Orchard Hills and Winnebago Landfills. Fact Sheet updates will be distributed to keep area residents better informed as landfill gas mitigation activities progress at each landfill. The Illinois EPA issued a Violation Notice (VN) for each landfill on February 4, 2010 due to odor issues.
